The Atletico Madrid youngster prepares to embark on his second loan spell in two years, this time at FC Porto in Portugal. The one-year loan does not include the option to buy Torres upon completion.

Torres' loan move to Portugal had been in the pipeline for a number of weeks and it was simply personal terms that needed to be finalised before he could officially be declared a player of FC Porto today.

The following statement was released via Atletico's official website,

"Atlético de Madrid and Porto have reached an agreement for the loan of Óliver Torres to the Portuguese club. The 19 year old midfielder from Extremadura, will play on loan until June 30th in the ranks of the Portuguese team directed by the Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui, and after that, he’ll return to Atlético. The home-grown player, who has already played on loan in the Villarreal since the opening of last season’s winter market, will continue to accumulate minutes and experience in one of the most powerful teams in Portugal.

From the Club, we wish Óliver the best of luck in this new phase of his football career."

Torres will link up with teammates ahead of the clubs pre-season matches. Torres' first chance to impress may come in Porto's only home fixture of the pre-season against Saint-Étienne of the French top division at the end of the month.
