Real Madrid:

Casillas - 6.5/10. Did what he had to do when his team came calling, made a few decent saves under pressure and commanded his area well when there was Sevilla pressure in the box at times. Kept a clean sheet, which is always a plus.

Carvajal - 5.5/10. Harsh to give the Spaniard anything less than this, because although he was present in his position he did not have much to do defensively or attacking-wise. There was barely any Sevilla chances so he rarely had to track back and he did not gallop forward, that was Bale's job on the flank.

Coentrao - 6/10. Delivered some deadly crosses on the left flank throughout the match and almost got himself on the scoresheet, if not for a goal-line clearance.

Pepe - 6/10. A solid day for Pepe, he kept tight to Bacca and did not let him get past him at all during the game. Even better than he didn't get booked!

Ramos - 6.5/10. A clean sheet for Ramos & Co, the Spanish centre-back always provided an aerial threat in the opposition box for crosses and corners, and he played well enough to deserve his rating.

Modric - 7/10. Kept hold of the ball well in midfield and started counter attacks at will along with Kroos, something that many fans will be hoping for more of in the upcoming season. Had a few attempts on goal, but nothing special.

Bale - 7.5/10. A good return to Wales for Bale, as he delivered a superb cross into the box for Ronaldo's first goal of the night and was unlucky not to grab his own goal late on, if it was not for Beto's goalkeeping heroics.

Rodriguez - 7/10. A solid debut performance by the Colombian, who showed flashes of individual skill and got forward well when under pressure. Hinted a few times that he was not fully 100% fit, and was substituted after 70 minutes. Encouraging performance nonetheless.

Kroos - 7.5/10. The most under-rated player on the pitch for Real, did well in possession of the ball and looked comfortable in a white shirt on his debut. 100 touches, 79 passes and 11 interceptions throughout the game, not bad!

Benzema - 7/10. Created the opening for Ronaldo's second goal of the game, and deserves a solid 7 rating for his tireless performance. His energetic runs and powerful strides were too much to handle for Sevilla, they tried to track his movement and he distracted them from the main man Cristiano who took his chances when they came.

Ronaldo - 8/10. The best player on the pitch, just how he likes it. Not a vintage performance from Cristiano, but he did what he had to do and scored a brace when it mattered, taking his chances against his fellow countryman Beto who did well to keep out many shots throughout but was unable to stop Ronaldo from scoring twice.

Subs:

Isco - 6/10. Came on with 20 minutes to play and didn't really see much of the ball, but got forward well and ran into space for his team-mates to pass into. Relatively quiet, did not influence the game considering the circumstances though.

Marcelo and Illaramendi - N/A. Both players came on late in the match and barely saw a touch of the ball, so it would be unfair to judge their cameo appearances with a rating.

Sevilla:

Beto - 7/10. A good performance by Beto, who was forced into making a few good acrobatic saves throughout the match including a one-on-one with Ronaldo in the first-half and a last-gasp parry from Bale's effort in the dying seconds of stoppage time. Could do nothing about the opener, but was unlucky not to stop Ronaldo's second, a powerful effort which he could only parry into the back of the net.

Pareja - 6/10. Pareja enjoyed a solid match, with a good defensive partnership alongside Fazio. Wasn't enough to keep Real at bay, but limited them to only a 2-goal cushion.

Navarro - 4/10. Bale had Navarro in his back pocket throughout the match, thanks to the defender's distinct lack of pace. Should have stayed onto Ronaldo's movement for the first goal, and could have prevented the opener in truth.

Carrico - 4.5/10. Should have taken his chance from close range as Real struggled to clear, would have made the score 1-1 and made the game a whole lot more interesting. Sloppy defending, Fazio had to sweep up his mistakes.

Fazio - 6/10. Performed okay during the game and did well to block a few efforts on goal, as well as making last-ditch clearances when Real looked threatening.

Coke - 4.5/10. Sluggish and ball-watching, Coke was struggling to keep up with Bale and could have prevented the first goal if he had stayed tight to the Welshman and stopped the cross delivery. Not a good game for him.

Krychowiak - 7/10. A solid performance from Krychowiak, who was strong and powerful in midfield and put in a lot of effort to ensure that the Real midfield did not trample over their opponents. Among his standout moments was a well-timed sliding tackle to deny Ronaldo from having a one-on-one opportunity to score.

Alex Vidal - 5/10. Not really involved in the match, had a half-chance towards goal but only came close.

Denis Suárez - 7.5/10. Sevilla's best player on the night, and a standout performer in the match. The young midfielder, who was bought by Barcelona for £4million from the youth ranks at Manchester City, then loaned out to Sevilla this season performed well throughout.

His energy paid off as he forced some mistakes when he pressed the Real backline, he did well in possession and got forward quickly.

Vitolo - 6/10. Had a half-chance parried at the near post by Casillas, got forward well and linked up with Suárez and Bacca but could not find the breakthrough.

Bacca - 6/10. His pace and power was not enough as the Colombian forward failed to have any clear cut chances on-goal, to really test Casillas as Pepe and Ramos kept him at bay throughout the 90 minutes.

Subs:

Aspas - 5/10. The loanee striker from Liverpool was substituted with 25 minutes to play but was unable to see much of the ball, and struggled to go through on goal.

Figueiras and Reyes - N/A. Same as Marcelo and Illaramendi, both players came on late and did not have much of an impact on the game.
