Last night’s game at the Estadio La Rosaleda ended 0-0 as both Malaga and Barcelona lacked attacking prowess need to win the game, Malaga didn’t allow Barca to have a single shot on target and nearly won the game themselves but were unable to convert their chance.

Tensions overflowed in the last 10 minutes when Malaga defender Weligton grabbed Lionel Messi by the throat and shoved him to the ground. The other Barca players pleaded with the referee to send him off but Weligton only received a booking. However after the game Weligton claimed that Messi had started the argument after calling Weligton “a son of a b***h”. Messi has so far not responded to the allegations made by the Brazilian centre-back.

Messi has been accused of having problems with both players and managers in the past, Zlatan Ibrahimovic for example was one of Barcelona’s most expensive players ever after signing for €69.5 million but left after one season after Messi reportedly told Pep Guardiola that he wanted to play more centrally and that left Ibrahimovic out of the team despite finishing the season with a very decent return of 16 goals.

He is also rumoured to have problems with fellow Barcelona player Neymar due to the fact that Neymar is apparently paid more than Messi. And finally at this summer’s World Cup it was suggested that Messi didn’t agree with coach Alejandro Sabella’s tactics in the first couple of games and as a result forced him to change the team around.
