Barcelona take on Cordoba on Saturday afternoon in the final game of 2014 for both sides.

2014 wasn't a great year for Barcelona with no trophies to show for their efforts and they will be desperate to finish the year with a win to close the gap to a single point at the top of La Liga.

Last weeks draw away to Getafe was a big blow for Luis Enrique's side. A win last week would have given Barca the chance to finish 2014 as the league leaders with Real away on Club World Cup duty.

Barca will once again be without Thomas Vermaelen and he could be joined on the sidelines by Dani Alves and Neymar. Should the Brazilian duo miss out Douglas and Pedro would be the most likely replacements.

Cordoba have struggled in La Liga and have only won one of their fifteen matches. Eight draws has kept them competitive and they currently sit eighteenth.

Scoring goals has been an issue and only Granada have scored less than Cordoba's eleven goals. Nabil Ghilas has scored four of those and is the clubs top scorer. Fede Cartabia has also impressed with the twenty-one year old Argentinian contributing three goals and three assists.

Cordoba could be without Mike Havenaar and Iago Bouzon but Fede Cartabia looks likely to play after recovering from a dislocated jaw.

Barcelona will be strong favourites to pick up all three points but the pressure will be on the home side as they look to keep pace with Real Madrid at the top of La Liga. Not many will believe Cordoba can get anything from Camp Nou and that may well take the pressure off them and they could become a dangerous opponent.
