Athletic Club players Mikel Balenziaga and Aritz Aduriz have both signed contract extensions, the club have announced.
The left-back, Balenziaga has signed an extension to stay with the Basque club until the summer of 2019, with a buyout clause €35 million. The 26-year-old has enjoyed a consistent season in Valverde's side.
Aritz Aduriz has renewed his contract to the summer of 2016, with a further option of renewing again to 2017. The 33-year-old striker has scored five goals in 13 La Liga appearances and has a buyout clause of €36 million implemented in his contract.
Both have been key players in recent years for Bilbao, including their amazing run to the Champions League group stages this season. Despite a poor showing in La Liga and in Europe, they are beginning to turn things around and will have a second chance to impress on the continent; Ernesto Valverde's men take on Torino in the Europa League round of thirty-two.
