At the Coliseum Alfonso on Friday evening, 15th placed Getafe will play hosts to 8th place Espanyol as the hosts look to climb further to safety.

Despite not performing well in the Copa Del Rey in recent weeks, Espanyol have managed to find decent form in league play. They got an impressive 0-2 victory over Malaga last time out with goals coming from Alvaro Gonzalez and Sergio Garcia, deep into stoppage time. Although they lost the two previous matches, Espanyol played well against tough opposition. This new found form should give them enough confidence to see off their rivals for this weekend. Christian Stuani and Sergio Garcia provide plenty of fire power up front as the pair of them have nine goals. In 20 appearances, Felipe Caicedo can also find the back of the net has he has done so on six different occasions.

Meanwhile, the hosts go into the match knowing that these three points could be the difference between staying up in the first flight or being relegated the Segunda Division. Two weekends ago, they got a very good win against a strong Sevilla side at home, but then fell to Valenica last weekend. This has been the theme all season long as they haven't shown consistency; in all areas of the team. Abdoul Yoda and Alvaro Vazquez lead the team with four goals, with Getafe only scoring 22 goals up to this point while giving up 36.

Gefate will be without five footballers for this match as Diego Castro will be suspended while Lafita, Diawara, Yoda, and Roberto Lago will be missing this vital clash. For Espanyol, they do not have anyone injured for this match, however, Sergio Garcia, Victor Sanchez, and Diego Colotto are all suspended.

Expect Espanyol to try and control possession. They are very patient in their build up play, but they often squander their chances. Do not bet on Getafe getting many opportunities in and around the 18-yard-box as their best opportunities will come from dead ball situations.
