Deportivo host Celta in the Galician derby on Saturday evening at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor with both teams in quite good form. The hosts did lose last weekend against title challengers Real Madrid, but had picked up seven points in the three games before their defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu. A draw with Granada and wins over Rayo Vallecano and Eibar saw Deportivo move away from the relegation zone and they now find themselves in fifteenth place; five points clear of the relegation places.

Deportivo will be without Laure who is suspended. Jose Toche, Helder Postiga and Luis Farina are injured and unlikely to take feature. Victor Fernandez will have Juanfran, Sidnei and Jose Rodriguez available for selection after the trio missed last week's trip to Madrid.

Celta are now ninth in La Liga and Eduardo Berizzo will be delighted that the team look to have turned the corner after a run of ten league games without a single victory. In Celta's last three games they have picked up seven points with a win over Cordoba and a draw with Real Sociedad and then an excellent 2-0 victory over defending champions Atlético Madrid last weekend. Not only did Celta beat Atlético but they done so in a convincing manner and were completely dominant over the defending champions.

Celta will be without Hugo Mallo and Carles Planas for the trip to La Coruna. It looks as though Berizzo will stick with the side that beat Atleti last weekend and he will be hopeful that if they play like they did last weekend they will get a positive result.

There's not a great deal between these sides and both will feel they are capable of winning this game. The main priority for both will still be to secure top flight football next season and while both look well positioned to do so at present both managers will know that a bad run could see them slip into the danger zone. Add to that the fact this is a local derby and the stage looks perfectly set for an enthralling contest at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor.
