Malaga host Cordoba in an Andalusian derby on Sunday afternoon with the sides looking for the points for very different reasons.

Malaga are currently in seventh place in La Liga, seven behind Villarreal and eight ahead of Athletic Bilbao and Espanyol. Seventh may be enough to secure a Europa League place for next season but Javi Gracia will be hoping his team can finish as high up the league as possible.

Malaga have been inconsistent in recent weeks. They had a great win over Barcelona three weeks ago and followed it up with a win over Getafe but last weeks defeat to Granada was less impressive and Gracia will be hoping his team can bounce back with a vital three points.

Javi Guerra looks sit to miss the visit of Cordoba and he could be joined on the sidelines by Ignacio Camacho who is carrying a knock. Camacho would be a big loss to the hosts as he has been in superb form this season.

Cordoba are bottom of La Liga and things are really beginning to look desperate for Miroslav Dukic's side. They are seven points from safety and have lost their last seven games in a row although six of those defeats were by one goal with only Sevilla beating them by more than one.

Dukic will have Pantic back from suspension but he will be without Inigo Lopez who is also suspended. Iago Bouzon will also miss the game due to injury.

Malaga will be strong favourites to win this game and on current form it is easy to see why. However, Cordoba are reaching a point in the season were they need to start picking up points or they are heading toward relegation. A victory in an Andalusian derby would be a great boost for Cordoba but on current form it would be a huge surprise.
