Fifth-placed Sevilla lie just four points behind third-placed Atletico Madrid, so gaining at least a point tomorrow against league leaders Barcelona will be extremely helpful for their journey. Sevilla's history against Barcelona has been poor in recent history having not earned a point since 2011 and have not beaten Barcelona in league play since 2007. Back in November, Barcelona displayed a masterclass tournament in the Camp Nou as Lionel Messi fired a hat-trick in their blowout victory. Sevilla equalized just after the half with a Jordi Alba own goal, but it would be all Barcelona after that as Neymar and ex-Sevilla player Ivan Rakitic would have their names displayed on the scoresheet as well.

Barcelona continued their winning ways midweek with a smooth-sailing victory over Almeria. Messi would kick off the scoring just after the half-hour mark, but it was in the second half where we saw the fine glimpses of Barca. Luis Suarez would strike just ten minutes after the half and would finish the night off with a brace, and Marc Bartra would be the other name on the scoresheet that night. This victory ensured they remained four points ahead of Real Madrid. Sevilla would have to hold on in their midweek game earlier in the week against Levante. Frenchman Kevin Gameiro kicked off the scoring after just ten minutes of play, and Jose Antonio Reyes would double the lead just eight minutes before halftime. Kalu Uche would pull one back for Levante with seventeen minutes to play, but Los Rojiblancos would survive the Levante onslaught to hang on for three massive points.

Team News

Sevilla: Piotr Trochowski is questionable with a knee injury he picked up back in August. It's probably safe to assume that he won't go until he's officially match fit though. Mariano Barbosa is going to be ruled out with a stomach injury as well as Moi being out with a toe injury. Moi was supposed to return around mid-March but his injury may be more severe than the original diagnosis.

Barcelona: Thomas Vermaelen is back in training after being out since October with a hamstring strain. He may be on the bench for this game, but Luis Enrique will likely play it safe and save him for the next league match.
