Reports have suggested that the world’s most expensive player Gareth Bale, has become isolated in the Real Madrid dressing room due to his lack of Spanish.

After nearly two years since his move and continued lessons, the Welshman is still only getting to grips with the language barrier and despite both Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlo Ancelotti speaking English, the dressing-room prefer to speak the native tongue.

The Welshman has struggled this season and this has been touted as one of the factors, he came under heavy criticism midweek after Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus and his agent Jonathan Barnett was quick to defend his client.

He said: "We’ve been vindicated by these statistics and it’s what we’ve been saying all along.

"It proves that people don’t know what they’re talking about when they criticise Gareth.

"Real have to work with Gareth and pass the ball to him more. Give him more of the ball and let him show everybody what he’s good at. He’s going to be the best player at Real Madrid when his team-mates work with him and help him.

"Hopefully Real will come to terms with this. I’m very upset that professional pundits don’t realise these facts. They should look at it more closely because it’s plain to see when you watch the games."

Real Madrid will host Juventus in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday.
