Valencia's 28-year-old centre-back Nicolas Otamendi, wants to leave the club, according to the player's agent. Premier League side Manchester United have been rumoured to be interested in his signature over the past few months, and this news will be an encouraging boost to their hopes of acquiring him this summer.

He has been linked with a move to the English top flight ever since January, and his representative, Eugenio Lopez, says that his client wants to leave the Mestalla this summer. Speaking to Radio Valencia Cadena Ser, Lopez said: "Nico wants to leave Valencia and is going to do everything possible to achieve it. Nicolas told [executive president] Amadeo Salvo to his face two months ago, it surprises me that it is said that [sporting director] Rufete knew nothing. Or he lied, or there is a lack of communication. In these cases the will of the player is very important.

According to reports, Valencia are reluctant to let one of their best and most important players leave, but if this is true, and he wants to go, his transfer value is viewed at around £25million pounds.
