Getafe released a statement on Monday confirming that head coach, Pablo Franco will not continue in his role with the first team and has been offered a return to the B-team.

Franco took over as Getafe head coach in February when Quique Sanchez Flores departed the club after less than two months in charge. Franco won just one of his first four games in charge before the side won back to back games in April. That was as good as it got for Franco and they picked up just two points from their final eight games in a run that included heavy defeats to Athletic Bilbao (4-0), Barcelona (6-0) and Real Madrid (7-3).

The favourite to replace Franco is 51 year old Alcorcon coach, Pepe Bordalas. Bordolas has already confirmed that he won't be staying at the Estadio Santo Domingo next season. Bordolas has been much travelled over his 51 years and should he take over at Getafe it would be his tenth club in a managerial career that has spanned 22 years.
