Elche are expected to be relegated on Thursday with a judge expected to rule against them in their tax case.

Cadena Ser have reported that Judge Jose Ramon de la Morena will rule against Elche and they will be demoted to the Segunda and Eibar will receive a reprieve as a result.

It has been alleged that the cash strapped club were not paying tax for a period but the club believe they have done enough to avoid relegation as new president, Juan Anguix met the tax office and made an offer to resolve the issue but it now appears it has all been in vain.

Los Franjiverdes finished 13th in La Liga six points clear of the relegation places but should they be found guilty they will go down with 18th placed Eibar being reinstated in their place. However, should the judge rule against Elche it is likely that the club will take the decision all the way and it could be weeks or months before we know for definite the full lineup for La Liga 2015/16.
