Spain manager, Vicente del Bosque has said that six months without football could mean Aleix Vidal will not be selected for the national team.

Vidal signed for Barcelona on Monday but the Catalan giants are not allowed to register players until 1st January 2016 after receiving a two transfer window ban from FIFA for breaking rules when completing the international transfer of young players.

Vidal has never been capped by Spain but del Bosque has him in his squad at the moment ahead of a friendly with Costa Rica and a European Championship qualifier against Belarus but it appears this could be his last chance to play for Spain in a competitive match before Euro 2016 with the European qualifiers finishing before he will make his Barcelona debut. When asked about the situation del Bosque told Onda Cero; "It will be hard to call him up if there’s no activity."

Whilst it is clear Vidal's short term international future will be hurt by his move to Barcelona it is likely that should he become a regular in the Barcelona team he will win a place in the Spain squad so in the long term his international hopes should be boosted by his move to the Catalans.
