Santi Mina has signed for Valencia, the club have confirmed.

Mina signs a six-year deal and makes the switch from Celta Vigo for a fee of £7.1 mllion, according to AS, though the clubs themselves have not disclosed the price of the deal.

An offer he could not refuse

The 19-year-old had another three years remaining on his contract with Celta, but with Valencia having secured Champions League football for the coming season, it is understandable that the opportunity was one he will have struggled to refuse.

Mina only made his La Liga debut two years ago, but quickly established himself in Celta's squad, even managing four goals in one match in their 2014-15 campaign as they defeated Rayo Vallecano 6-1 in April.

Pedigree in the youth ranks, can he replicate that?

His performances over the last couple of seasons have helped him earn caps with Spain's youth teams too, with two caps and a goal for the under 18s coming in 2013, as well as 16 caps and eight goals for the under 19s coming over the past two years.

The forward leaves Celta after ten years with the club, during which he played 50 league games and scored nine goals, as well as playing 13 games for the B team in the 2012-13 season, scoring eight goals.

Speaking to Valencia's club website, Mina revealed that he feels as if he is "in a dream" when thinking about the move.

He understands that joining "a great club like Valencia at such a young age isn't easy," but recognises "the responsibility that [he has]" and states that he is ready "to fight every day to return the confidence" that the club "have placed in [him]" by signing him on such a long deal.

Mina said that his main "goal" at the club is "to help" them "to continue being one of the best teams in Spain."
