Reports in Spain and Paris today suggest that Atletico Madrid might be selling 29-year-old Guilherme Siqueira to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of €9 million.

In addition to this deal, PSG would send Thiago Motta back to the Vicente Calderon who is unsettled at the Ligue 1 champions and is in need of a change of scenery.

Last season with Atletico

Although Siqueira did not play in every single match for the 2013/14 La Liga champions, he was still a key part to the success of Atletico Madrid on the left side of the defense appearing in 25 league matches with 24 of them starting.

However, with Filipe Luis looking to return, his place in the starting eleven will look to be up for grabs moving to France may be the best move for everyone involved.

The season before his move to London, Luis was main left-back and as a result, Siquiera was sent out on loan to Portuguese giants, SL Benfica.

Motta to return to the capital

Fellow Brazilian, Thiago Motta could return to the club where he spent one season in and made six appearances before moving to Genoa the following season.

Motta will add some much needed experience coming off the bench for Diego Simeone should this deal become a reality.

With all of the youngsters coming into the squad this season, the presence of Motta will be a big boost because the veteran midfielder will be able to use his experience to help the younger footballers to gain more confidence as the season progresses.

This deal would be the best parties for everyone involved and especially for Siqueira because he will continue to play at the highest level with some of the best footballers in the world whilst still competing in the upcoming addition of the Champions League.
