Manchester United’s pursuit of Sergio Ramos might have come to an end after Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez told the defender that he would not be sold under any circumstances, during a long meeting in Guangzhou, China, where the team is concentrated for their preseason.

El Captian stays

Ramos had previously told Los Blancos of his intention to leave at a meeting with Ángel Sánchez, the general director at the club’s Valdebebas training ground in Madrid about a month ago which then led to a tense telephone conversation with Pérez.

What we do know is that a deal could be finished by the time the International Champions Cup will end in time for the start of the 2015-16 season. The recently named captain of the ten time European Champions recieved the armband following the departure of longtime goalkeeper and club legend Iker Casillas to FC Porto in Portugal.

Ramos has been with the club for ten years as well ever since his move from Sevilla in 2005 and has proved to be one of the best center backs in the world and an important player in the backline for Real Madrid.

If he doesn't go, I won't go

The big rumour that has been going on for the majority of the summer was the idea that Real Madrid would swap their captain for United's David De Gea as a replacement for Casillas.

However, it's been clear that if the Red Devils sell their big talent in goal to back to the Spanish capital, they would need something in exchange to help strengthen their defense, like a player like Ramos.

Two teams seem to be fighting it out and knowing the relationship Perez has with Ramos, despite his statements, Ramos won't go without a fight but at this point, it looks very unlikely that he will leave.
