It has been revealed that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are also looking to sign Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.

The Belgian youngster has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League side Manchester City with claims saying that his deal to the Etihad will be completed this week.

Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking however, has revealed that Manuel Pellegrini’s side aren’t the only side that want to sign De Bruyne with the two Spanish clubs reportedly looking for a transfer.

Heckling told AS despite his “appreciation” for the Manchester club, he said that the trio of “Madrid, Barca and Bayern Munich” and he confirmed that there have been “bids”.

Should he stay or should he go

Despite the rumours, Hecking insisted that the 24-year-old won’t be leaving the Volkswagen Arena unless there is an “extraordinary offer” but has said not to rule “anything out” and the club will “listen to offers”

De Bruyne was arguably Wolfsburg’s best player last season in what one of the best in the club’s recent history finishing second to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga to qualify for the Champions League group stages and won their first DFB-Pokal title.

Recent history

He moved from Chelsea back in 2013 managed to score 16 goals and registered an incredible 27 assists in his 51 appearances in the 2014-15 campaign and no Bundesliga player was directly involved in goals more than him.

Despite the interest of the trio of European giants, it does seem that City are still in the driving seat to complete the transfer. A reported £46m offer has been made by the Eastland’s side and are confident of completing a deal before City host his former side Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
