Two out of form sides, Levante who sit at the bottom of La Liga and Malaga who are tumbling down the table, meet in the last match of 2015 at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.

Form

Tonight's hosts have had an abysmal first half of the season as they are in the 18th spot on only 11 points. However, if they manage to win tonight in front of their home supporters, then there is a possibility that Levante jump two spots by the end of the night depending on how other results go. The biggest problems for Les Granotes is their back line. In 16 games, 29 goals have found the back of the net which is the second worst defense in the top flight of Spain.

Against Athletic Club before the festive break, Levante were handed a 2-0 defeat away from home which was their second loss in a row and third in the last four matches. Rubí's men looked absolutely dreadful, controlling possession less than their opposition while getting off only one shot on target in the entire 90 minutes.

Malaga, however, have faired only slightly better sitting safely near the middle of the table in 13th. The problem with the visitors is their lack of consistent form. One week, they defend as a unit, exploit their opponent's space attacking up the pitch before stunning their fans with a great goal. Then the following week, Malaga will get beaten badly by a side who really should not have won.

The best example of this came in their last match against Atletico Madrid. No one really expected the hosts to win in that match yet, a red card in the second half turned the tables and the three points went to Los Boquerones. However, in the Copa Del Rey Malaga lost to a second division side using a fairly strong side.

Key Players

At 31 years of age, Brazilian forward Charles is having his best season in the top flight in Spain since he has been in the country. In 15 appearances for his new club, he has found the back of the net six times thus far and is on pace to break his first division record. He is also the most likely to score for his club as he leads the side with in goals by a wide margin.

In a side without much quality it is hard to pick who will stand out in the squad in any given day.  But it is Deyverson who will always pop in and around the eighteen yard box looking to find the back of the net. However, he has only scored four times and misses the target more times than not.

Prediction

Do not expect a lot of goals in this match as both sides lack tremendous quality in the final third of the pitch. Between the pair, only 22 goals have been scored to this date while they have allowed 43 with the hosts letting in the most. The only way a goal is likely to be scored tonight would be off of the counter or on a set piece situation.
