After a tough win over Espanyol in the Copa Del Rey, Barcelona will look to get back in the thick of things in La Liga as they face Granada.

Form

It was a messy game in Barcelona's 4-1 win over Espanyol in the first leg of the Copa Del Rey Round of 16 matchup. The game featured two red cards, numerous fouls, and even a supposed tunnel mixup between the two sides. But Barcelona were able to maintain their composure and come through with a 4-1 win.

This could serve as an important game for Barcelona as it looked to anger the Barcelona players into playing to a higher level. After winning the Treble last year, the main thing for Barcelona's players were their motivation. Were they motivated enough to win the title? They showed against Espanyol they were. Now the Catalans will turn their attention back to La Liga where they look to get back to the top spot. Currently Barcelona sit two points behind current leaders Atletico Madrid but have a game in hand of Atletico. Simply, if Barcelona win they are top of the league.

Granada have been having a complete opposite season of Barcelona. Granada currently sit 17th in the league table and are only two points above the drop zone and desparetly need to get at least one point in a tough environment which will in turn give them a great deal of confidence. They started off their La Liga campaign alright this year however with a 2-1 win over Sevilla but still have a lot of work to do. After this game against the Catalans their next two matches are against Eibar and Getafe. Their best bet at getting points will be against the latter of those two teams.

Team News

Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan are expected to be named to the squad list as they look to make their La Liga debuts for the club.

What They're Saying

"I think it would be madness if he does not win the Ballon d'Or. He deserves it because the team won another Treble." said former Barcelona player Thierry Henry to FC Barcelona's offical website when asked about Leo Messi's chances of winning the Ballon d'Or this year. Messi is expected to win over Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi's teammate at Barcelona Neymar

"It's normal there is tension, it's a derby and we have our rivalry." said Luis Enrique to reporters (via ESPNFC) after Barca's 4-1 win over Espanyol. Tensions were high in the clash but Barcelona must control their emotions when they go to Espanyol for the second leg next week.

Prediction

With a solid result in the first leg of the Copa Del Rey, Barcelona can now focus on the league again and expect the Catalans to come out firing. There should be no reason why Barcelona will not win this match as they have better quality throughout the entire starting eleven and on the bench. If they somehow lose, it will be off a set piece or a spot kick.
