Stuart Bingham completed the shock of the tournament so far beating five time winner Ronnie O'Sullivan 13-9 in the World Snooker Championship quarter-finals.

Bingham came into Wednesday with a 5-3 lead and quickly extended that lead with a 145 break that equalled Neil Robertson's highest break of the tournament. O'Sullivan won the next three to level the match at 6-6 and the pair exchanged the next four frames to come into this evening's session at 8-8. The Rocket won the first frame tonight but that was as good as it got and Bingham won the next five to set up a semi-final with Judd Trump.

Trump only needed one frame to secure his place on the last four with the majority of the hard work being done yesterday. Trump had took a 12-4 lead over Ding Junhui on Tuesday and earned victory with a match winning break of 66.

In what turned out to be the most thrilling of the quarter-finals, Barry Hawkins beat the 2010 champion Neil Robertson 13-12. In total there were eight century breaks in one of the best matches the Crucible has seen in recent years with Robertson hitting 130, 141 and 142. It wasn't enough for the Australian though and Hawkins held his nerve in the deciding frame to win with an excellent break of 61.

Hawkins will play Shaun Murphy in the semi-finals after the 2005 champion beat Anthony McGill 13-8. The pair came into today's play tied at 4-4 but Murphy opened up a 9-6 lead on the Scot in this afternoon's session. McGill won the next two frames to get the score back to 9-8 but Murphy won the next four to secure his place in the last four.

There will be no morning session on Thursday to allow one table to be removed from the arena ahead of the semi-finals. The semi-finals will be played over the best of 33 frames.

Thursday's Order of Play

1pm - Shaun Murphy v Barry Hawkins

7pm - Stuart Bingham v Judd Trump
