The main bout on the Brooklyn card is Amir Khan (30-3) vs. Chris Algieri (20-1). This fight has unfairly been unfairly covered in a large majority by the media; instead of focusing on the fight, instead, trying to turn attentions to what could be on the horizon for Khan should he beat Algieri. A fight with Mayweather.

In a fight which has been dubbed by many fans as 'hand speed' from Khan - 'foot speed' from Algieri, it will surely prove to be an exciting bout.

On the Mayweather talk, Khan is a much more mature fighter and man now, talking recently to manchestereveningnews.co.uk he said of the talk surrounding his proposed fight with Floyd Mayweather; “There’s always talk about that happening but I’ve made the mistake of looking past opponents before and I’m not going to make that mistake again." It's refreshing to see Khan now operating from this mind-set, and, it has been even more refreshing to see him winning again. After his two back-to-back defeats against Lamont Peterson (SD) and Danny Garcia (TKO) in 2011 and 2012 respectively, there were a lot of fears what would come for Khan in his career.  Algieri will pose a staunch test for the Brit though, with his only career loss coming against Manny Pacquiao in 2014.

It's not just Khan who seems focused on the job at hand, Algieri speaking to boxingnewsonline.net said; “Amir is a tough fighter there is no doubt about that, but I am very confident in my ability and the game plan that coach has come up with for me...You are going to see two proven champions in a high intensity and high level fight, laying everything on the line come Friday night."

Javier Fortuna (27-0) will face Bryan Vasquez (34-1) for the only title up for grabs on the card on the evening. The vacant WBA World Super Featherweight title. The fight is on the card due to Paul Malignaggi's being withdrawn. It is Fortuna who will come into this with more confidence having won his last five, and only one being by way of a points decision. Vasquez will be less confident, having had to turn around his career from his first, and only, loss against Takashi Uchiyama. Since then though, Vasquez has won his followign five bouts to put the loss behind him and move forward once more.

The final fight on the card in Brooklyn is a battle of two Light Heavyweights, Marcus Browne (14-0) vs. Cornelius White (21-3). The expectation here is for Browne to win again as the 24yo looks to prove his worth and talent in the division. Much like England's Anthony Joshua, he is being handled carefully right now, but, he is demolishing the opponents put in front of him, having KO'd 11 of his opponents. White will know his in for a tough fight tomorrow evening, that's for sure, but, he also packs a mean punch and is much more experience than his opponent. The only thing against White, is his ability to take punches in return, all three of his losses have come by way of KO. It could come down to who lands the first power punch on the night.
