On Friday night Premier Boxing Champions held an outstanding event from Brooklyn headlined by Khan-Algieri in a welterweight showdown.

The opening bout was fought between undefeated Dominican Javier Fortuna (28-0, 20 KOs) and all action fighter Bryan Vasquez (34-2, 18 KOs) which many predicted to steal the show.

Both fighters took it upon themselves to not make this bout a dull one, very often in the last minute of the rounds they would let their fists fly getting into some serious brawls.

By the 7th round, Fortuna seemed to have been gassed losing the following couple of rounds from lack of activity and Vasquez throwing erratic punches that would land on a more stationary Fortuna.

Fortuna got back on his horse and cruised to a victory winning the championship rounds to a unanimous decision with the scores being 117-111 x2, and 116-112.

This is Vasquez's second loss where the first came to the division's top dog Takashi Uchyama the WBA 'super' champion that knocked him out in the 8th round of their fight.

Fortuna landed 237 of 637 while Vasquez landed 174 of 710 shots thrown according to CompuBox.
