After a 25-20 extra-time victory over Leinster, Toulon confirmed that they will be taking part in the end of season showpiece with Clermont at Twickenham on 2nd May.

Leigh Halfpenny was once again the architect for the French side, kicking all but five of their points. Bryan Habana scored the crucial try in the extra period, picking up Ian Madigan's long-range pass to crush Leinster's dreams and keep alive their own of lifting the trophy for a third time.

"They are a difficult side to break down. Credit to my guys, but fair play to Toulon for the win," said Jamie Heaslip, skipper of the defeated Irish side.

Toulon will face Clermont, who overcame Saracens in an equally tight and tense game on Saturday. Brock James kicked eight points but it was Wesley Fofana's fantastic try that proved the difference in a 13-9 victory.

English full-back Nick Abendanon gave his thoughts after their victory, "It is another final for Clermont and we honestly believe this is our year. We have worked so hard to get here that, hopefully, it will be our year."

It couldn't have been set up slightly better, pitting the top-two in France against each other. Though it remains to be seen as to whether Toulon will be able to transfer their slender advantage in the Top 14 into the European Cup Final.
