Thanks to South Africa's slip-up against the Japanese, Pool B in this Rugby World Cup has been completely blown up with all five teams harbouring serious hopes to reach the knockout stages.

Scotland got off to the perfect start in their opener, beating Japan 45-10 at Kingsholm, picking up a four-try bonus point in the process, which sees them sit top of the group early on.

Their opponents, the USA, are already in must-win territory after failing to pick up any match points in their 25-16 defeat at the hands of Samoa last Sunday.

Cotter makes ten changes after short turn-around

Having played on Wednesday against the Japanese, head coach Vern Cotter has decided to bring in ten new faces in an attempt to keep his side firing on all cylinders against a dangerous opponent. Forwards Grant Gilchrist and John Hardie remain in the starting XV, alongside fly-half Finn Russell, centre Mark Bennett and full-back Stuart Hogg

Included in the players starting for the first time at this World Cup is Henry Pyrgos, who will captain the side from scrum-half taking over from Greig Laidlaw

British and Irish Lion Sean Maitland starts on the right-wing oppositie the explosive Tim Visser, in what is the least experienced side to have started a match at this tournament to date.

Thiel comes in for America's only change

United States head coach Mike Tolkin, has only made one alteration to his line-up for Sunday's match, bringing in Phil Thiel at hooker, with Zach Fenoglio dropping to the bench.

Elsewhere the side remains the same, which means Samu Manoa will again start from number eight. In the back-line, Thretton Palamo will look to pick up from where he left off against Samoa where he put in an excellent performance, playing outside AJ MacGinty, who fared well in Brighton.

For Takudzwa Ngwenya and skipper Chris Wyles, this is their 9th World Cup appearance, moving them just two games behind Mike McDonald in their countries all-time list.
