France continued on their merry way at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, with a bonus point victory over Canada at Stadium MK

The 43-18 win saw the French score five tries against the North Americans, who only trailed by six points midway through the second half and were well in the game.

Philippe Saint-Andre's men scored a couple of late tries to pull away from their opponents, setting up what looks to be like a pool deciding final game against Ireland in Cardiff

Michalak at his mesmeric best to nail down ten jersey

Saint-Andre's decision to go with Frederic Michalak as his first choice fly-half has been questioned in some quarters, but he continues to impress outside of Sebastien Tillous-Borde.

Michalak started the game on fire, assisting the first try with an expert break, before offloading beautifully to Wesley Fofana who scorched away to score.

Hooker Guilhem Guirado then crashed over on the back of a maul for France's second try, each converted by Michalak, who added a further penalty to extend the lead to 17-0.

The Canadians then fought back, scoring two tries in the space of three minutes to get the Milton Keynes crowd jumping.

First, try machine DTH van der Merwe scored for the third straight game after brushing off his opposite number, which was then followed two minutes late by a great surge to the line by hooker, Aaron Carpenter

Prop forward Rabah Slimani put a break on the Canadian comeback, when he notched his second try of the tournament on the cusp of half-time.

French pull away to grab four-try bonus

Nathan Hirayama scored two early penalties after the break for Canada, which meant the French held just a six point lead as the game hit the hour mark.

That was as close as Canada got to the French, with Pascal Pape and debutant Remy Grosso crossing for Les Bleus' fourth and fifth tries in the final quarter of the game.

Scott Spedding really came to the fore after the break, with the full-back involved in everything that was positive for the French.

France now move on to their final group game against Ireland, which looks set to decide the winner of Pool D, with the loser of the match facing a potential quarter-final against New Zealand

Canada put in their second straight magnificent performance against a Six Nations team, after running Italy close in Leeds. They end their tournament with a game against Romania, which each side will be targeting as the most likely chance for victory at the World Cup.
