Petra Kvitova has beaten Eugenie Bouchard 6-3, 6-0 in 55 minutes to win her second Wimbledon title.

The Czech sixth seed was in the zone from the get-go. A huge forehand return that clipped the line saw her break to lead 2-1 in the first set and she never looked back as she held serve all the way to 5-2.

Serving for the set, Kvitova stumbled a little as the Bouchard return game began to find its stride and Bouchard broke back for 3-5. But the fightback was short-lived as Kvitova, struck two forehand return winners to break back and take the set.

Kvitova held serve at the start of the second set and then teed of on Bouchard's second serve, and many of her first serves, too, to break for 2-0.

Ahead, Kvitova never let-off as she ran away with the match, her clean, flat hitting at its peak, to take the second set 6-0, a beautiful backhand cross-court winner sealing her the championships. It was her 28th winner in a performance that saw her hit only 12 errors.

Kvitova's performance will go down as one of the greatest ever seen in a Wimbledon final. For Bouchard, while she may be disappointed her first slam final appearance was so brief, there is no shame in going down to a woman playing the tennis of her career, one which will no doubt see more great performances in slam finals as Kvitova finally comes to terms not just with her talent but the rewards it could bring her, too.
