Today was quarter final day and Caroline Wozniacki and Agnieszka Radwanska were both aiming to reach the semi finals of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.  Wozniaki had never made it past the quarter finals before in this tournament.  Radwanska got off to a great start by breaking Wozniacki in the first game, however she was broken back in the next game to level it all back up again.

This was a pattern throughout the first set, with the players exchanging breaks until it was 5-4 in Wozniacki's favour.  This mean that she would be serving for the first set.  This she managed without any difficulty, so she was one set away from her first Cincinnati final.

The second set started off with Wozniacki on a roll as she took the first 2 games, but Radwanska was not going to go quietly, and she broke back to level again.  Again this set was a lot of exchange of breaks before holds took place and we were heading for a tiebreak.

Radwanska needed to win this to take the match into a deciding set.  Again there were many exchange of breaks, until Wozniaki stepped up a gear and forced errors from Radwanska.  At 6-5 Wozniacki was serving for the match, and in a fantastic rally she made Radwanska run and play some great shots, but in the end Wozniacki forced the error and won the match in straight sets.

She will face World number 1 and top seed Serena Williams in the semi final
