Milos Raonic's journey in his first clay season torunament was stopped in his morning match against Tomas Berdych on Centre Court.

It seemed clear, since the match started, that Raonic had some trouble. He couldn't push on his leg and go full out with his game, especially his serve. This allowed the sixth seeded Berdych to take an early break, after just two games.

The two continued to play until the Czech, was leading 5-2 in the first set, then Raonic called the doctor and after a quick check to the right foot, the Canadian giant decided to call it a day;the match lasted just thirty one minutes. Also in the match against Tommy Robredo, on thursday, the tennis player from Thornhill was obligated to call a medical time out.

"These things happen unfortunately. I'm really sorry for him and wish him to return soon," said the Czech on Raonic's injury. Tomas Berdych was also pleased with his quick adaptation to the clay, "I prepared myself at the end of the tournament in Miami. I'm happy with my game and I'm ready for a great semifinal."

Tomas Berdych will face the Frenchman and fourteenth seeded Gael Monfils, tomorrow in the first semifinal, on Centre Court, not before 1:00 pm (local time).

In the last hours it was thought that the presence of Raonic was in doubt also for Barcelona. This news was confirmed by Ivan Ljubicic on Italian Sky Sports.
