We'll find out but for now that ends our coverage of the match between Johanna Konta and Petra Kvitova.  Thank you very much for joining us and make sure to stay tuned to VAVEL for all the latest news tomorrow and for the rest of the US Open.

On Louis Armstrong?  Murray and Anderson are into a tie break but Anderson has taken a 3-0 lead already.  Game over for Murray?

And when asked about her illness, 'My coaches are not very happy, but I have learned that I don't have to practice that much. We are managing the schedule, because you never know how you are going to feel the next day.'

Petra Kvitova has had this to say after the match.  'It was a very difficult match. She served very well. At the beginning, I was the worst player, but I kept my serve going and waited for my chance.'

Murray, meanwhile, trails 5-6 and is serving to stay in the match...

Johanna Konta can be proud of the match she produced, as it was only down to two untimely double faults that she finds herself on the losing end.  Kvitova was inconsistent but brilliant for the most part and is sure to present a stern challenge for Flavia Pennetta.

7-5 6-3 Johanna Konta delays the inevitable as she brings it back to 30-40 but the reprieve can only last so long and Konta sends a ball long to hand the win to Kvitova who looks delighted as she reaches her first ever US Open quarter final!

Heading into a must win service game, Konta was on a 93% succes rate on her first serve.  This recored looks in danger as Kvitova moves 0-15 ahead, but Konta races back with two good serves.  Kvitova levels the score at 30-30 with a sensational backhand, which draws some cheers from the crowd, before a huge backhand forces Konta wide with the return and it's set point.

6-5 The crowd appear to be finding their way into the match, with the later diners finally finished.  Those who are watching will know that there is extremely high quality tennis on Arthur Ashe. Talking about that, Kvitova wins her first game to love and now has gauranteed herself at least a tie break.

5-5 Konta looks to suddenly feel the pressure, as for the first time she finds herself 15-30 down and with a second serve.  She sends in a sliced serve which Kvitova can only send long to level the game.  The two exchange another lengthy rally, in what is becomming the theme of the match.  Kvitova sends two backhands long as Konta finds herself out of her first hole of the match.

Andy Murray has squeezed through the third set as he wins the tie break by 7-2 and now faces a fourth set.  Still 2-1 to Kevin Anderson, who has played the match of his life.

5-4 Kvitova races up to 10 unforced errors as Johanna Konta finds herself 15-30 up before another great shot gives her two break points, with hawkeye confirming Konta's deep reutrn was on the line.  Kvitova sends in the serve and a Konta return and suddenly we find ourselves in a lengthy rally, going from Konta's forehand to Kvitova's backhand, but a sign of impatience from Konta as she goes down the line too early and sends it wide.  Kvitova saves the second with an ace, before another unreturned serve - Kvitova's serving has been mostly excellent so far - takes us back to advantage for Kvitova.  Konta reverts back to her patient style of tennis and saves it but in the next point Konta stops midway during a rally to challenge a call which she gets wrong.  At advantage Kvitova, the Czech seals it with a powerful forehand and a scream of delight.  She knows she is in a fight now.  A big game coming up for Konta as she must hold.

Tie break for Murray

4-4 Konta still yet to looked fazed on the court as Kvitova continues to try and break her down with sheer force alone.  The Brit, though, is not for moving and holds to 15.

On Louis Armstrong, Murray holds to take a 6-5 lead and is now guaranteed at least a tie breal.

4-3 Kvitova The game opens with another play of who will blink first, as Kvitova races to the net after a lengthy exchange and then hits her volley long, but on the next point, she sets up a smash opportunity which she grabs with both hands.  At 40-15, a stunning one-two from Kvitova as a big serve out wide sets up the forehand down the line, which she puts away in style before an ace gives her the advantage once more.

3-3 A stroll for Konta with all of her serves unreturned, including her first ace.  Still on serve.

3-2 Kvitova races into a 30-15 lead before Konta sends a ball into the air which sits invitingly for a smash, but inexplicably Kvitova fires the ball wide with some lazy footwork forcing the error and a double fault later and Konta has her first chance for a break.  The Czech looks rattled with Konta playing the more assured tennis.  But the break point is gone as soon as it appeared, with Kvitova firing an unreturnable serve.  Konta opens up another break point opportunity but again the return is out of play as it lands long.  Kvitova wins the next point with a thunderous backhand before Konta sends another return long and we'er still on serve.  Interestingly enough, most of the errors seem to be coming from the Konta forehand.

I have feeling that if Konta can withstand the power of Kvitova, we could be in for some match here!

2-2 The lights are switching on and under the lights, the Arthur Ashe is truly wonderful.  Konta opens the game as Kvitova sends another groundstroke wide, but then some strong offensive play forces Konta to play it into the net as Kvitova races to the net - an unusal tactic from the Czech.  Konta finds herself 40-15 up and suddenly on the end of a Kvitova barrage to the backhand, the players trade backhand to forehand before Konta eventually mixes it up with a stunning shot down the line for the game.

At the change of ends, both players looked relaxed.

2-1 Kvitova  The opening three points are won by Kvitova by virtue of an ace and two unreturned serves.  Kvitova double faults on the next point, her first of the day, before an ace fires past Konta for the game.

1-1 Konta opens with an ace to ease the nerves and then is gifted a point when Kvitova sends a ball long.  Kvitova sends the return from the next serve into the base of the net and in the next point sends the ball wide on the forehand.  A comfortable hold from Konta and one which will surely settle her.

1-0 Kvitova Some big strokes on the first game of the point, with both feeling their way into the match, Kvitova shows some class to win the first point with a delicate drop before finding the net on the next point for 15-15.  The next two points produce lengthy rallies, firstly Konta sends a ball long for 30-15, before the two players become enveloped in another tussle.  Kvitova tries to end it with a drop shot once more, but Konta shows terrific speed to latch onto it and tap it beyond Kvitova for 30 all.  In the next point, Kvitova tries to mix it up with some hard hitting but Konta repels it and suddenly has break point, which is saved by another powerful forehand.  The game is sealed by Kvitova after Konta sends two balls into the net.  A good opening game from both players with Konta looking perfectly at home on Arthur Ashe and Kvitova already looking menacing.

One minute before the play gets underway, and with Murray now a break up in the third set it will hopefully prove to be a good omen for his fellow Brit.

Kvitova has won three trophies this year but has been more inconsitent than anything.  Her health has taken a battering though, as she was diagnosed with Monoucleosis, the same illness which has so often held back Venus Williams in recent years.

The crowd is looking rather empty at the moment, with most surely still having some dinner.  The players stand at the net for the coin toss and the pre-match photos.

But our focus will be on Arthur Ashe tonight where the players should soon be out and warming up on court.

We'll keep you updated with that one and hopefully Murray can turn it around, but Anderson is a far better player than Adrian Mannarino and Murray looks mentally tired.
