World number one Novak Djokovic won his eighth title of 2015 with a 91 minute 6-2 6-2 victory over Rafael Nadal. The Serbian raised his record in Beijing to 29-0, and will now look to reclaim the Shanghai title next week.

This was Djokovic's seventh win in his last eight matches against the Spaniard, and he shows no signs of slowing down as what could be his most successful season to date enters its final stretch.

Djokovic lives up to favourite tag

In past times, this would perhaps have been a close match, but such has been the difference in form of the two men this year that Djokovic was the easy favourite before the match, and lived up to that billing in a routine win, breaking serve four times without losing his own.

Nadal had break chances in the sixth game of the match, but was unable to take them in a match which saw Djokovic hit seven aces.

Nadal optimistic for the future

This was, however, a positive week for the world number eight as he looks to improve his form after a disappointing 2015 so far. This was his first final since losing to Andy Murray in the Madrid Masters in April, and he was feeling optimistic for the future afterwards:  ''I have been improving in every single match. All matches are good practice for me. It's good energy for starting next season stronger."

Less good news for Nadal, however, was an apparent leg problem which the trainer was called for during the second set. He will hope to have recovered from this in time to attempt to continue his improved form in Shanghai.

For Djokovic, this was another chapter in a stellar 2015, as he raised his record to 68-5. The world number one usually finishes the season strongly, and he looks to be in the form to do so once more - he will take some stopping over the next few weeks. Next up in Shanghai he will attempt to regain the title he lost to Roger Federer in 2014 - it seems tricky to bet against him doing just that, another victory at the ''most successful tournament so far in my career'' giving him the perfect preparation.
