Premier Boxing Championships landed on CBS this Sunday afternoon with two televised fights. The main event was a match up in the super junior middleweight division between Anthony Dirrell and Marco Antonio Rubio. The co main was a battle for the 118 world title in a rematch between Jamie McDonnell and Tomoki Kameda. The event took place at the American Bank Center from Corpus Christi, Texas.

Anthony Dirrell had little issues dealing with the Mexican brawler this Sunday afternoon. He easily defeated Marco Antonio Rubio who only found his strength through constant pressure. The judges could have easily given each round to Dirrell who used a swift jab and left cross to keep the pressing fighter at bay. Anthony also found success with work to the body and even though he didn’t maul Rubio he out worked him enough to grab the nod. There were a few moments during the fight when Marco had Dirrell pressed against the ropes, but Anthony easily managed his way out of the situations. Both fighters barely had a scratch on them after the end it was a purely technical display. The judges score the fight for Dirrell 100-90 on all three scorecards.

Jamie McDonnell seemed one step ahead of Tomoki Kameda in their title rematch. Kameda was able to land a nice counter left in the second round but that was his biggest moment of the fight. The taller McDonnell repeatedly landed his jab and used his range to fend of the small competitor. The result ended the same for Tomoki as he was once again unable to beat the British fighter. The judges saw all rounds in favor of McDonnell 116-111, 115-112 and 117-110.

Up next on the Premier Boxing Championship schedule is Trout - Hernandez and Lara - Rosa on Fox Sports 1 Tuesday September 8th.
