Colorado Rockies starter Brett Anderson is expected to have surgery on his fractured left finger, possibly on Thursday.  Pins will be inserted to assist with the healing process and to help with the regaining of motion.  Anderson is expected to miss four-six weeks.

Anderson fractured the finger on Saturday in the 1-0 Rockies win against the San Francisco Giants.  Anderson was batting in the fourth inning against the Giants' Matt Cain when he hit a slider off the end of his bat, fracturing the finger.  Anderson attempted to throw warm up pitches when he took the mound for the Giants' half of the inning, but after one pitch intense pain forced him to leave the game.

Anderson is 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA, with five strikeouts and five walks.  Anderson was acquired in a trade with the Oakland A's last December for pitcher Drew Pomeranz.

Coming Up:

The Rockies have recalled outfielder Corey Dickerson from the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox.  Dickerson was sent down six days ago when reliever Boone Logan came off the disabled list. He will be used as a left handed bat off the bench.  In three games with the Rockies, Dickerson is 2-for-5 (.200).
