Following the decision of longtime player agent Dave Stewart to join the Arizona Diamondbacks as their new general manager, Houston Astros' slugger Chris Carter may need to find a new agent in the coming weeks. Stewart was Carter's agent prior to Stewart taking the job as the Arizona Diamondbacks' general manager. Dave Henderson has taken over Stewart's agency, but Carter has the option of finding new representation.

This comes at a very important time for Carter as the 27-year-old will be eligible for arbitration for the first time in his career this off-season. Coming into Friday, Carter is hitting .228/.310/.495 along with 37 homers and 88 RBI in 564 plate appearances this season. After struggling in the first half of the regular season by hitting just .205/.281/.465 along with 19 homers and 40 RBI, Carter bounced back and has been hitting the ball well in the second half of the regular season. Coming into Friday, he has hit .257/.345/.531 along with 18 homers and 48 RBI in the second half of the regular season.

Carter's rollercoaster of a 2014 campaign should make for a very interesting arbitration hearing, which makes his representation that much more important.
