Seattle Mariners' right-handed pitcher Taijuan Walker has decided that he will no longer pitch in the Arizona Fall League. According to Greg Johns of MLB.com, Walker is fully healthy and will be returning to his home in Southern California.

"Taijuan is completely healthy and was very impressive in his two outings, but made a personal decision that he needed to return home at this time," Seattle Mariners' general manager Jack Zduriencik said in a statement released by the club on Sunday. "He will continue with his off-season program and we look forward to seeing him at Spring Training in February."

The 22-year-old was slated to make at least four or five starts in the Arizona Fall League this off-season to build his overall pitch count after missing time early in the season with shoulder issues. The highly regarded young hurler was recommended to pitch about 25 innings in the AFL this fall before shutting things down until next spring. However, he made just two starts in the AFL and posted a 2.00 ERA in nine innings pitched. He allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out eleven batters in his stint in the Arizona Fall League this year.

Walker made just eight starts in the Majors this past season and posted a 2.61 ERA in 38 innings pitched. He struck out 34 batters while surrendering 18 walks en route to a 3-5 record for the season.
