Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports that outfielder Rajai Davis is fully recovered from the groin injury he had last season. It is great news for Davis, especially because he is fighting for a starting outfield spot with newly acquired Anthony Gose

Davis has bounced around from the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays and now he is with the Detroit Tigers. In 2014, his first season with Detroit, he swiped 36 bases while getting caught just 11 times. He slashed .282/.320/.401, while adding a career-high eight home runs and 51 RBI's. The 34-year-old will likely be able to repeat his success if he can stay healthy throughout the season.

It will be very interesting to see how much Davis actually plays because of the acquisition of Gose. The 24-year-old has just 133 plate appearances against lefties and has struggled against right-handed pitchers with a .241/.316/.350 batting line. Which is pretty consistent with his 2013 batting line. Judging by the fact that he will most likely platoon with Davis, he should bat around .250/.330/.370 because of specific matchups and lefty/righty combinations. A huge upside to Gose is the range that he possesses in center field, just like Austin Jackson

Nevertheless, Davis is healthy and will be ready to go for spring training.
