The Detroit Tigers took on the Tampa Bay Rays at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida. Anibal Sanchez got the start for Detroit, and Jake Odorizzi got the ball for Tampa Bay. In the end, the Tigers lost 11-5 because of an awful bullpen performance.

Sanchez got the start and gave up a first-inning grand slam to Brandon Guyer and an RBI triple to Kevin Kiermaier in the second inning. It looked like it was going to be a very long night for the starting pitcher. Sanchez helped his own cause after the trouble by getting the last 12 batters out.

However, Miguel Cabrera launced a two-run shot in the second inning to help the Tigers make their push. Cabrera also had an RBI double in the third.

Ian Kinsler helped the cause with a 3-for-3 performance, including an RBI double in the fifth inning.

Alex Avila came in and got a pinch-hit RBI double to tie the game. Eventually, the score was 5-5, and the Tigers had a chance. Avila was pinch-hitting for Cabrera.

Al Alburquerque pitched 1/3 of an inning and gave up five hits and two walks that accumulated six runs.

Joe Nathan did not give up any hits, but he walked one hitter. Nathan's fastball hit 94 mph, and he struck out one. It was a good day for the current closer.

The Tigers (11-20) play their final game of 2015 Spring Training against the Rays (15-12) at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Detroit will send Alfredo Simon (1-2, 5.56 ERA) to the mound and the Tampa Bay starter is currently unknown.
