The White Sox were coming back home after losing their opening three games in Kaufmann Stadium against the Kansas City Royals. Meanwhile the Minnesota Twins were coming closer to home after playing on the other side of Lake Michigan as they had been swept by the Detroit Tigers. Both teams were looking for a win in the game so that they could get the winless monkey off of their backs.

Minnesota got things going quickly in the top of the first inning when Eduardo Escobar was hit by a pitch by Hector Noesi and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Clearly Noesi didn't have his best stuff going in this game. Joe Mauer was able to get a single off Noesi and Escobar would come home to take a lead that the Twins would not give up this game. Noesi would run into trouble with the same group in the top of the fifth inning, giving up a leadoff double to Escobar and then giving up a walk to Mauer. It seemed like he was going to get rid of some trouble as Torii Hunter and Kennys Vargas both popped up to get to two outs. Then Noesi would end up giving up a walk to Trevor Plouffe before throwing another wild pitch that Escobar would take the remaining 90 feet to get home to give them a two run lead.

Matt Albers came in lead relief for the White Sox and did alright but he did give up a solo Home Run to Brian Dozier, which was Dozier's first of the season. The Twins would get three runs off of Zach Putnam in the top of the ninth when Kurt Suzuki got a RBI single and then Jordan Schafer knocked two more home on another single.

But all of that may have been for naught if it wasn't for the brilliant pitching job done by Tommy Milone. He got the win by going 7.2 innings giving up just 2 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 7 and was pulled at 100 pitches to keep the young man healthy and safe. Brian Duensing then came in and got a 4 out save to get the 6-0 win. Adam Eaton was tagged out at home for the final out trying to get the White Sox on the board.

The Minnesota Twins (1-3) will go for in a row tomorrow as they put Mike Pelfrey on the mound to face the same Chicago White Sox (0-4) as they will face Jeff Samardzija (0-1 , 7.50 ERA) who will be looking to improve on his opening day start.
