In a weekend that the Giants had some pride and happiness this weekend, when they received their 2014 Championship rings, but they have little to be happy about regarding this season. Paul Goldschmidt made sure to ruin Sunday's outing for the Giants and Tim Hudson. Goldschmidt had a 2-run home run in the top of the 1st inning and the Diamondbacks never looked back.

"It was a good win, but it only counts for one," Goldschmidt said. "It doesn't really matter in the long scheme of things, but any time you can get a win, it's good."

The Giants had just snapped an eight-game losing streak and now are right back in the hole again.

"Right now, all we're trying to do is find a way to go out there and play good baseball," Hudson said. "We can pitch better, we can field better and we can hit better. You do those things better, you're going to be better."

They really do need to field better, pitch better, and hit better. If you told this writer that this would be beginning to the 2015 season, this writer wouldn't be surprised. Although the Giants have an unreal amount of skill in the postseason, we've seen that, but they need to gear up for what seems will be a long season.

Things aren't terribly bad, though. The Giants have some positives hopefully with Pence and Cain working to be back in the lineup and rotation. That should keep Giants fans hopeful. It's still really early and fans shouldn't lose hope just yet. We've seen this team do unbelievable things so things have the potential of turning around.

"There's such a fine line in this game," manager Bruce Bochy said. "They end up putting up a big number and it changes the game. They outplayed us."

The Giants get their first off day of the season Monday and will start a three-game series on Tuesday against the Dodgers.
