Phoenix— The Fourth of July continued into Sunday for the Colorado Rockies as a three-run home run by shortstop Troy Tulowitzki sparked a 6-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

For only the third time in franchise history, the Colorado Rockies strung together six hits in a row and tacked on four runs in the top of the first inning off Diamondback starter Rubby De La Rosa (6-4). De La Rosa settled down after the first inning retiring 11-straight at one point. He exited after five innings, surrendering six runs on eight hits, four of those runs and six hits coming in the explosive first inning.

A second tale of De La Rosa took the hill for the Rockies. Jorge De La Rosa (6-3) recorded his 90th career victory and first career victory at Chase Field on Sunday afternoon. De La Rosa tossed six solid innings, giving up two runs on five hits and recording six strikeouts. His first strike out of the afternoon was number 1,000 of De La Rosa’s career.

Tulowitzki extended his Major League leading hitting streak to 18 games on his first inning three-run shot. Tulowitzki, a possible All-Star, finished the day 2-for-5 with three RBI’s. Carlos Gonzalez added a two-run home run of his own in the sixth inning and finished 3-for-4 with two RBI’s.

Diamondbacks right fielder Yasmany Tomas provided the offense for the snakes. The Cuban native went 2-for-3 and drove in three of the four Diamondback runs. All-Star first baseman Paul Goldschmidt drove in the other run for the Diamondbacks.

The Rockies are off Monday as they travel back home to Coors Field to take on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. First pitch is slated for Tuesday, July 7th at 8:40 p.m. EST. The game can be seen on ROOT Sports and Fox Sports West.

The Arizona Diamondbacks travel to Arlington for a quick two game set with the Texas Rangers. First pitch is slated for Tuesday, July 7th at 8:05 p.m. EST. The game can be seen on Fox Sports Arizona and Fox Sports Southwest.
