The Philadelphia Phillies could see veteran OF Jeff Francoeur re-positioning himself next season, as him and the team are said to have mutual interest in a 2016 return.

Jeff says himself that the club and him have a continued relationship looking upon next season, as originally noted by Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com. Once 2014 reaches it's conclusion, Jeff will hit the open market for other teams to look at, however, it goes without saying it is entirely possible that he could find himself back in Philly for another year with a chance of reaching the playoffs of course.

As noted by MLBTradeRumors, the organization may wait to allow the transaction pending the status of a new general manager who is said to be making the final call. Francoeur's value is somewhat limited given his age which gives away the fact that his fielding skills are no longer what they once where, but he did happen to draw some interest at the trade deadline, having been reportedly claimed by an unknown team. The Phillies pulled him back, in hopes of watching him progress to the season's end.

Jeff has impressed the organization not just on the field, but off the field as well. His veteran presence makes for a very comforting one, as he has been with many guys in the past, weather it is to help or just simply have fun. He could continue on this way, not only as a mentor, but a good friend as well, helping to stabilize the lineup on an every day basis.

In a statement from Jeff himself, he said, "There's mutual interest in me coming back. They've got a lot going on in the front office with the general manager search, with Pete (Mackanin) taking over as manager. Like anything else, there will be an appropriate time to address it, but there's mutual interest."

Over the course of his 11 year career, Jeff owns a slash line of .261/.304/.722 with 152 home runs and 662 RBI's, in a total of 1349 games played.
