After a long and very competitive series, Tomateros de Culiacan defeated Naranjeros de Hermosillo in seven games, just a few hours before the start of Serie del Caribe.

The 'guindas' were crowned two-time champions of the Mexican Pacific League and earned the right to represent their country in this great tournament.

In the championship series of the Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic, it looked like everything was set when the Gigantes del Cibao led 3 - 1. However, the Aguilas Cibaenas came from behind to win the last three games, crown themselves champions and earn the ticket to the Serie del Caribe.

Tonight's game pits two teams that were victorious on the first day of Serie del Caribe against each other, so both will want to remain undefeated at the start of the tournament.
