ALCS Game 6

The Boston Red Sox, after all, face a 3-2 deficit in the best-of-seven series after suffering back-to-back losses at Fenway Park. The Houston Astros have had 18 runs and 23 hits in the last two games, while the Red Sox have had just three and eight, respectively.

Red Sox News

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora is focused on his team tying the series tonight and setting up a winner-take-all seventh game on Saturday.

The Red Sox will send Nathan Eovaldi 2-1 with a 5.51 ERA this postseason, a native of the Houston area, to the mound Friday against fellow right-hander Luis Garcia.

Eovald has already faced the Astros twice this series. He allowed three runs and five hits in 5 1/3 innings in a 9-5 victory in Game 2 on Saturday before the bottom fell in a disastrous ninth inning in Game 4 on Tuesday. Eovaldi did not benefit from a potential third strike call and allowed four runs and two hits in two-thirds of an inning. Kevin Plawecki will enter the roster and be behind the plate to catch Eovaldi's pitches.

Astros News

Astros manager Dusty Baker expressed confidence that Luis Garcia is ready to step up to pitch to the mound as the team tries to advance to the World Series for the third time in five years.

Luis Garcia will take the mound tonight after coming off his previous start with a sore right knee. Before leaving him in the second inning, he received a grand slam in the first. However, according to reports, García himself mentioned that his knee feels normal.

Baker also said rookie center fielder Jake Meyers likely will not return to the roster this series, although he is available to run as a pinch-hitter or pinch-hitter. Meyers injured his shoulder in the final game of the American League Division Series against the Chicago White Sox.

The Boston Red Sox couldn't take advantage of their home advantage, losing two of their three games at Fenway Park. They will try to break their two-game losing streak and force a decisive Game 7 tonight in Houston.

Luis García RHP #77

The Astros' pitching hasn't been that good so far this postseason. Opponents have a .261 batting average against Hpuston. They come into Game 6 with a 5.01 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP.

The Astros will start on the mound with Luis García, 0-1 and a 45.00 ERA. In his last start, Garcia allowed two hits and five runs in one inning, leading to a 9-5 loss to the Red Sox. They'll need a much better performance from him to avoid going to Game 7.
