The Milwaukee Brewers may have the best record in the league, but that didn't stop the Arizona Diamondbacks from taking the series with a 3-2 win, Wednesday afternoon.

Bronson Arroyo allowed a unearned run in the first inning but was lights out the rest of his outing, as he scattered four hits and two walks over the next 6.1 innings he would pitch. He rolled up three double plays and threw just 86 pitches.

His offense would back him, as Paul Goldschmidt would hit his second two run homer of the series in the third inning to put Arizona up 2-1. Arroyo would help himself out by hitting a lead off single to start the eighth inning. He would advance to third after a Will Smith wild pitch and be brought home by Gerardo Parra, who reached on a fielding error by Lyle Overbay.

Brad Ziegler would get the final two outs in the eighth inning and Addison Reed would get his tenth save despite allowing a run in the ninth off a Overbay sacrifice fly. .

The D-backs get their second consecutive Thursday off before they finish off a nine game road trip against the Chicago White Sox. Brandon McCarthy will look to shut down his former team as well as continue his great pitching as of late. The White Sox will counter with Andre Rienzo. As for the Milwaukee Brewers, they welcome the New York Yankees to Miller Park for the first time in nine years. It will feature a battle of aces, as Masahiro Tanaka and Yovani Gallardo will do battle.
