I believe it was Bill Lumbergh from Office Space who said, "If the San Francisco Giants could play the rest of their season on the road, that'd be great..." I might be paraphrasing that quote, but it is not an uncommon opinion shared with fans. With only a handful of teams with a better road record, the Giants are 32-21 when not playing at AT&T Park this season.

The Giants have now won their third consecutive road series and still have two more left on the road trip. If they can win at least three more games this week they will have put together back-to-back winning road trips. This is something that the Giants have not been able to accomplish all season and with the Dodgers faltering as of late, the Giants can look to gain ground after losing it last weekend.

Ryan Vogelsong pitched beautifully on Friday, even when battling fatigue in the 9th inning, to achieve his first 9-inning complete game in his career. Jake Peavy actually carried a no-no into the middle innings of Saturday's game but unfortunately that was ruined with a 4-spot by the Mets. Madison Bumgarner showed why he was the ace on Sunday, throwing only 94 pitches (75 strikes) for a two-hit complete game shutout.

The getaway game on Monday did not have a great start from Tim Hudson but he was able to get into the late innings. Monday's game came in the form of clutch hitting from third baseman Pablo Sandoval.  Hunter Pence, who had been poked fun at by Mets fans, helped contribute a couple hits of his own. He came alive on Sunday after slumping during the earlier home stand, hitting two home runs and getting seven RBIs in the series.

Buster Posey contributed throughout the series as well, getting a homerun of his own on Sunday, and also getting four walks on Monday's game. Brandon Belt, who came off the disabled list from a concussion, also hit a home run on Sunday. The Giants added Matt Duffy from AA-Richmond on Friday and he started a couple of games in the series. He had an RBI single in Friday's game to tack on some insurance for Vogelsong.

Some good and bad news from the health side of things for the Giants. They got Brandon Belt back in time for the Mets series and expect to have outfielder Angel Pagan back soon. He will be playing some games with AAA-Fresno before it is determined whether or not he will join the Giants in their next series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Unfortunately, these two additions come at a loss, as Matt Cain has been slated to receive season-ending surgery. The surgery on his right elbow (bone chips) will keep him out for the next few months.  However, he will be expected to be ready for next year's spring training.

The Giants have two more series on this road trip, one against a tough Brewers team in a three game set, and another three game set against the Kansas City Royals. They will return home for a short home stand following their road trip.
