Invicta FC, the all-women’s professional mixed martial arts organization, will return to the cage on February 27th for the highly anticipated return of Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos. She will face Canadian standout Charmaine “Not So Sweet” Tweet for the featherweight strap at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. The fight will also exclusively on UFC Fight Pass and is an eight card lineup filled with explosive match ups and includes a straight weight match for the co-main event between Alexa Grasso and Mizuki Inoue. Invicta has also signed atomweight Stephanie “The Scrapper” Skinner to a deal earlier this week.

Cris Santos (12-1,1 NC) has been holding on to the featherweight title for some time and looks to retain against the well rounded Charmaine Tweet (6-4) who is as equally good with her stand up as she is on the ground. Cyborg is looking to move to 135 and fight in the UFC, but it seems as if they would like her to stay busy before she makes the move down. A few weeks ago, it seemed as if she had given up on the idea of moving down, but Cris has always understood how important this fight is to mixed martial arts.

If she can make the cut cleanly and not lose that patent strength that she is known for then we are in for a treat. This writer hopes that if she can’t, she will realize her body is more important than this projected fight. Charmaine Tweet has been on a nice little two fight streak since her last lost to now Bellator signee Julia Budd. Dispatching of heavy hitter Veronica Rothenhausler early in the first round of IFC 8, Charmaine has a big test in front of her but has all the necessary tools to make this a very competitive match. In other words “don't sleep on Tweet!”

The co-main event will be just as exciting with a faced paced very technical bout between Mizuki Inoue (6-0) and undefeated Mexican star in the making Alexa Grasso (8-3). Inoue recently came off a tough loss to another technical striker in Karolina Kowalkiewicz. She has some of the best footwork and hands in the division but will have another very skilled fighter to deal with. Alex Grasso shocked us all with her KO victory over Alida Gray. We knew she had the ability with her hands to make any fight she is in competitive and a great watch but the pop she possesses is dangerous. This is a fight you cannot miss and one this fighter feels may be the best of the night.

The card will also feature the debut in the strawweight division of DeAnna ‘The Argentine Assassin’ Bennett (6-0) which we are anxious to speak to on why she made the drop after finding tons of success at flyweight. She faces submission specialist Lynn Alvarez (6-3) who returns to Invicta after flirting with the WSOF promotion. It’s a dangerous debut in the division for DeAnna and one that she will have to be weary of when hitting the ground. Mexican heavy hitter Irene Aldana (4-1) will face Melanie LaCroix (3-2) making her debut for the promotion. The full eight bout fight card is listed below.

In other news Invicta FC is still signing fighters and has recently signed former XFC and RFA bad ass Stephanie ‘The Scrapper” Skinner (4-5). A worthy mention for comeback fighter of 2014 she went on a two fight tear after losing to now UFC strawweight fighter Angela Hill. Stephanie has always had the tools to be one of the top fighters in the division and she now has that chance to show it in the Invicta organization. She is a tough nosed competitor who is always in impeccable shape and will be a great addition to the Invicta FC atomweight division.
