EC3 has had a monumental presence in TNA. The TNA fans love his promos, such as his recent "Vote for Carter" campaign to his countering of "You can't wrestle" chants with such retorts as "I'm really good." He's a hallmark of a really terrible era where TNA actually was looking for a booker on their website, and they kept letting Buh Buh Ray or all wrestlers cut promos week after week. (Improvisational or not, they really stunk, representing the World Championship of TNA.) EC3 defeated Kurt Angle, Sting, and many other famed names in TNA, and few have criticized that move.

TNA looks like they listened to critics who said that they didn't create their own talent, creating a character that they own the rights to, and invented themselves. Everybody loves hating the character they created.

All that said, who should take the belt off him? The wrestler with the most history with him, Rockstar Spud.

Wrestling is all about history. Although a bit botched, we have to appreciated the shout outs to Elgin vs. Cole and O'Reilly vs. Cole on this week's ROH TV. Every good promo is just one big brand marketing fest:

Thesz vs. Rikidozan
Steamboat vs. Flair
Kobashi vs. Misawa
Stone Cold vs. the Rock

So who is EC3's Rock?

That's Rockstar Spud. Rockstar Spud was literally the definition of “stooge” when he worked as contributor to EC3’s early success. Rockstar Spud and EC3 had a major feud after splitting late this past year, ending with a great hair vs. hair match that in this writers opinion was one of TNA's better matches this year.

This writer still remembers the details of Rockstar Spud's multiple Roaring Elbows and the reactions the crowds gave him every time he was in the ring with EC3. The epic reaction when the crowd heard Rockstar Spud yell, "Scalp! Scalp! Scalp!" was a memorable highlight of a company the Internet really doesn't think to fondly of.

Rockstar Spud demonstrated he could carry EC3. Rockstar Spud demonstrated he could provide large amounts of charisma and energy in a match vs. EC3.

Earlier, Rockstar Spud had big moments in TNA cashing the X Division Feast or Fired belt vs. Low Ki in one of the major upsets of the year. Rockstar Spud later faced Kurt Angle after cashing in the X-division title for the World Heavyweight Title shot.

He's been this writer’s favorite TNA wrestler when he tagged with EC3. He's been an even more favorite wrestler of this writer when he feuded against EC3.

Even if giving WWE favorites chances they never had in Vince's fed, Spud's tag matches with Mark Andrews vs. EC3 really made TNA feel like they could establish their own talent and keep feuds interesting.

It's something TNA should be proud of and celebrate with Rockstar Spud, World Heavyweight Champion at the end of Bound for Glory.
