IMLAY CITY, Michigan -- Drew Arft has been on a scoring tear. More importantly, so are the Lutheran North Mustangs

After the 80-61 win over the International Academy Phoenix of Flint, the Mustangs are averaging 76.4 points per game on the season. Arft scored 26 points in the victory to push his scoring average to 23.8 points per game.

Jack Hilt continued his dominance in the post with 13 points, including a three-point jumper, and a flurry of rebounds. Kasey Lesnau picked up six points, three assists and three steals, while Jake Schinkai scored eight on the afternoon. Eli Thaut only managed four points, but ran the offense with success throughout the entire game.

The Phoenix were led by De'Quarion Williams and Gregory Beasley Jr., who both scored 11 points for International Academy. Stephen Floyd chipped in 10 points in the loss. The Mustangs pressured International Academy throughout the entire game as Kevin Kapanowski forced multiple turnovers on three steals, while Peter Freeman stole a few himself.

While the Mustangs sprayed nine three-pointers, the Phoenix only managed two coming off the hands of Clifford Hooker and Makei Richards. Another stat in favor of the Mustangs was free throws. Lutheran North made seven compared to five from International Academy.

Lutheran North took control early and had no problem rolling to the finish for their fifth win of the season in as many games. International Academy dropped to 0-2 with the loss.

The Mustangs have a good amount of days off to get rest before they travel to Allen Park for a matchup against the Cabrini Monarchs on January 5th.
