Drew Gulak is one of the most skilled competitors that will be performing in The Cruiserweight Classic and he reveals why.

Despite originating from Philadelphia 'the home of hardcore wrestling' he is hoping to use his technical ability to be victorious at the end of the tournament.

The home city of Gulak is known for its eccentric style of wrestling thanks to the days of Extreme Championship Wrestling but he is familiar with all styles thanks to the teachings of his trainers.

The 29-year-old says that his coaches are "fluent" in all "styles" of wrestling and his ability to use those styles has only developed later in his career.

He said, "Philadelphia is known for more hardcore wrestling, glass, fire, tables and other sorts of fun stuff but my trainers are all very fluent in all different styles of technical wrestling so I learnt those techniques from them and later on in my career I saw how they applied those same techniques that I learnt. Learning that application opened up a new door for me as far as how to get things done in the ring."

On his advantage in the ring

The nickname of the established independent star is The Trail Blazer and he will be hoping to continue to do this when he squares off against Harv Sihra in the opening round match.

With every performer in the tournament each having their own personal style of wrestling, Gulak believes his style will enable him to get things done "in a heartbeat" and give him the advantage.

He said, "Being a skilled technician in the ring always gives you a good advantage because you can get the job done in a heartbeat"

The current representative of Combat Zone Wrestling which has featured the likes of WWE's own Dean Ambrose and Adam Cole says that just the smallest details of a wrestling move can be the most effective

He said, "[There is] Such little detail in the art of technical wrestling can be the most effective."

Gulak among the rest of the competitors, will be heading into the competition with the intent on winning, however, he talks through what it will take to be the sole victor of the tournament.

He said, "To win this tournament it is going to take drive, focus, determination and know how; these are all things I have."

The Game Changer possesses the confidence that it will take to have his hand raised against every opponent he takes on, but he is also aware of how great of an opportunity he has been presented with.

He finished with, "To be in the Cruiserweight Classic and the WWE is nothing short of surreal, for me it has always been a slow grind, like that goals can I achieve next, how can I get better and it has lead me here it is wild and it is surreal."
