Finally, being able to say that Monday Night Raw put on a great TV show is great, especially considering its lack of compelling narrative in recent weeks.

Regardless of the previous airings all that mattered was this week’s which was a truly memorable show for all of the right reasons.

The opening segment

One of the most recent stumbling blocks over the past couple of months has centered around what should kick-off the professional wrestling show.

This week saw all four competitors in the main event for the WWE Universal Championship sat in a ring with all four men adding their own ingredients to a truly entertaining recipe.

Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Big Cass were all back and forth with each-other taking sly jabs in what made for a great comedic segment.

Then the fun and games soon stopped once Roman Reigns decided to join in as he went after K.O. before eventually clearing the ring of the rest of his opponents.

The main-event became much more promising and exciting and was all down to a well put together opening part of Raw.

Some things in life are certain; the sun will rise tomorrow morning, the earth will rotate around the sun and Chris Jericho will continue to be hilarious.

The veteran was interviewed backstage by Tom Phillips prior to his match against Neville and kept his gag of MIS-naming the interviewer.

With his final comment he offered the WWE Universe ‘The Gift of Jericho’ to which we will happily accept if he keeps up this amazing level of comedy.

Somebody call a doctor

While some fans may see the direction that The Club are traveling as a dead-end; others may see the comedy within their rather childish gimmick.

Following their injury that they delivered to Big E. Gallows and Anderson they have adopted the persona of doctors only this week they were joined by Dana Brooke.

The somewhat random trio all joined forces to take on The New Day and newest addition to Raw; Bayley in a mixed-gender three-way tag-team match.

The Club were at one time the kings of New Japan Pro Wrestling but not they are make believe doctors on the Red Brand, something looks like a misdiagnoses.

Stephanie McMahon- bipolar?

Speaking of doctors, is there one able to take a look at Stephanie McMahon who seems to be having an issue remembering which character she is playing.

The commissioner of Raw invited The Advocate for Brock Lesnar to come out to the ring to explain his client’s actions, despite her fining The Beast $500 following his SummerSlam mauling of Shane McMahon.

The 39-year-old took offense to Paul Heyman’s sarcastic paying of the fine as he threw single dollar bills around the ring in a display of arrogance.

However, she quickly took him down to earth by saying she should have fired him, that she was the one who bought ECW and that she started the Women’s Revolution.

Now those three comments are designed to boo, boo and then cheer- is this the actions of a heel or baby-face? Who honestly knows anymore.

Kevin Owens is the New Universal Champion

Saving the best and most shocking for last as Kevin Owens is the new WWE Universal Champion after he defeated Big Cass, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

One major factor in his win may have been the arrival of a certain Triple H who after delivering a pedigree to Reigns outside of the ring and ushering Rollins into the ring for a pin-fall put his mastermind plan into action.

Just when it looked as if The Game was going to help his former Prodigy claim the gold, he delivered a pedigree to The Architect and Owens seized his opportunity to become the second WWE Universal Champion.

As if the return of the veteran was not enough, seeing The Prize-fighter claim the gold at the end of the night was a spectacular way to usher in the ‘new era’ and in spite of the trauma caused by the injury to Finn Balor; a new superstar has been born.
